Add a custom connector to Claude
A custom connector lets Claude use a service by its server URL, even one that isn't in Claude's directory. Here's how to add one, with site.link as the example.
What you need
- Any Claude plan. The Free plan allows one custom connector.
- On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector for the organization first. Members then connect it for themselves.
1. Open Connectors
In claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, click Customize in the sidebar, then the Connectors tab. This is where every connector you've added lives, including the ones from Claude's directory.
2. Add the custom connector
Click Add and choose Add custom connector. Give it a name and paste the connector's MCP server URL. For site.link, that's:
https://mcp.site.link/mcpClick Continue until you can click Add. Any other connector with a server URL goes in the same way.
3. Sign in to site.link
Claude asks you to connect. A site.link window opens: enter your email, click Send code, and type the 6-digit code we email you. Click Continue, then Allow.
The first sign-in creates your site.link account. There's no password to remember.
4. Ask Claude to use it
Open the chat where Claude made your page, and ask for the address you want:
Publish this page at mycafe.site.link
Used site.link
Done. mycafe.site.link is live.
- Name reserved for your account
- Page published on site.link
- HTTPS on, ready to share
If Claude answers without using site.link, click + below your message, open Connectors and check that site.link is switched on. From here, see how to share a Claude artifact at your own link or host an HTML file online.
