site.link is a product of Micro.company. It gives the websites you make with ChatGPT or Claude an address under site.link: we host the site for you, or point the name at a website you built with ChatGPT Sites. This policy explains what we collect when you use site.link, including through the site.link apps in ChatGPT and Claude, and what we do with it.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you sign in with an email code or with Google. It identifies your account.
- Your Google account ID, if you sign in with Google. We don't get your Google password or contacts.
- Your site.link name and its settings: the name you claim, the DNS records created for it, and the address of the ChatGPT Site it points to, if you connect one.
- The website you publish: every file sent to us to host, such as pages, styles, scripts, images and fonts, plus when it was published, its size, a fingerprint (a SHA-256 hash) of the files, and which app published it. The files are public at your address as soon as they're published.
- Billing details, if you pay to keep a name: your Stripe customer ID and, for each name, its price, subscription status and the date it's paid until. Stripe collects your card and billing address; we never see your full card number.
- Usage records: when you claim, publish, connect, take offline or release a name, publishes we refused and why, and the IP address of requests, kept for security and rate limiting.
- Abuse reports: if you report an address, what you tell us, the email address you choose to give us, and a one-way hash of your IP address so we can stop spam reports.
We don't collect your conversations in ChatGPT or Claude. The app only sends us what a site.link tool needs, such as the name you asked for and, when you publish, the files of your website.
When someone visits a website hosted on site.link, Cloudflare handles the request, including the visitor's IP address, so it can serve the page. We don't add tracking, analytics or cookies to the websites we host.
How we use it
- To sign you in and keep your account and name tied to you.
- To store and serve the website you publish, and to create and update the DNS records that make your address work.
- To check published pages for password and card fields, which site.link doesn't host, and to prevent abuse such as phishing or squatting on names.
- To charge for the names you choose to keep.
- To show the small "Made with" badge on sites whose names aren't paid for, naming the app that made the site.
- To send you sign-in codes, reminders before a name's free days or paid year run out, and important notices about your account.
We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
- Cloudflare hosts site.link and the websites on it, stores its data and files, sends our emails and runs DNS for site.link.
- Stripe, which processes payments when you pay to keep a name and keeps your card and billing details.
- Google, only if you choose to sign in with Google.
- OpenAI and Anthropic, which run ChatGPT and Claude and receive the results of the site.link tools you use there.
Your hosted website is public: anyone can visit your address and see its files. DNS records are public by design too: anyone can look up the records for your site.link address. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to stop abuse of the service.
How long we keep it
- We keep your account while you use it.
- For a hosted website, we keep the version that's online and the one before it. Taking the site offline or releasing the name deletes both right away.
- When you release a name, its DNS records are deleted right away and the name is held for you for 14 days.
- A name that isn't kept is released 74 days after its free days or paid year end, and its DNS records and hosted files are deleted then.
- We keep payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- If we take a site down for breaking our terms, we keep its files for as long as we need them to review the case and spot repeat abuse.
- If you ask us to delete your account, we delete your account data and files within 30 days, except records we must keep for security or legal reasons.
- We keep abuse reports for as long as we need them to handle the report and spot repeat abuse.
