In the chat where you built your Site, ask for the address. ChatGPT and site.link reserve the name, connect it and create the DNS records for you.

If ChatGPT can't add the domain to your Site by itself, it asks you to add it in the Site's settings and paste the records the Site shows. That's the only manual part.
Add site.link to ChatGPT
Paste one address into ChatGPT, sign in, and ask. It takes about a minute.
Add the site.link app
In ChatGPT Settings, open Plugins, click + and choose Create an MCP app. Name it site.link, paste this address, tick the box and click Create.
Sign in to site.link
ChatGPT opens a site.link window. Enter your email, type the 6-digit code we send you, and click Allow.
Ask for your address
In the chat where you built your Site, say:

ChatGPT renames its menus now and then. If a label above doesn't match, look for Plugins or Apps in Settings.

Which ChatGPT accounts can use it?
You need ChatGPT Sites with custom domains, which aren't available in Enterprise workspaces yet. You add site.link yourself from ChatGPT's Settings in about a minute. No developer mode needed.
How long does it take?
The DNS records are ready within a minute or two. HTTPS usually follows a few minutes after your Site verifies the domain.
Can I move my address to a different Site?
Yes. Ask ChatGPT to move your site.link address to the new Site. It connects the name there and replaces the old records.
Can I point my address somewhere other than ChatGPT Sites?
No. site.link either points your name at a ChatGPT Site or hosts the site itself, which is how it works with Claude. Not pointing names at other hosts keeps free addresses from being used for phishing.
I already own a domain. Do I need this?
No. Add your own domain in your Site's settings instead. site.link is for when you don't want to buy one.
