Why host a ChatGPT Site on site.link

ChatGPT Sites are great while you are building. The default share link is long, easy to mistype, and hard to put on a card or in a pitch.

With site.link you claim a name like mycafe.site.link, connect it to your ChatGPT Site, and share that instead. Visitors land on your work. You never buy a domain or edit DNS records yourself.

Steps to host it

  1. Add the site.link MCP plugin in ChatGPT.
  2. Sign in when ChatGPT opens the site.link window.
  3. In the chat where you built the Site, mention @site.link.
  4. Ask for an address, for example: Give this Site the address mycafe.site.link.
  5. Confirm the name, then share the short link.

If the name is free, site.link claims it and points it at your ChatGPT Site. HTTPS is included.

Tips for a clean launch

  • Pick a name that matches the product or place, not a random string.
  • Keep the ChatGPT Site published so the short link has something to open.
  • Every name starts free for 30 days. Keep it later if you want it long term.

When you are ready for Claude artifacts or static HTML, the same name model works there too.
